Each one offers a warm welcome and something a little different from the norm. All SIH hostels are quality assured, though we like to think that it’s the unique and personal touches that will really make your stay a memorable one.

Individuals, families and groups are welcome at most hostels, we also have a few Group Only hostels. what's the difference between a bunkhouse and a hostel?

Bunkhouse

Rural accommodation which can be booked by groups or individuals. Services and facilities may be limited but will include a self-catering facility. Bunkhouses are not star rated but will meet or exceed minimum standards for cleanliness, maintenance and quality.

Hostels & Backpackers

Star rated accommodation often in shared rooms with bunk beds, family rooms may also be available. Hostels normally welcome individuals, families and groups, many of whom are staying on a short-term basis. Hostels often have a quite formalised structure, which may or may not include restricted access, meal service etc.

It should be noted that some properties with hostel-standard accommodation use the term 'bunkhouse' to describe themselves. If you're in any doubt, each individual hostel/bunkhouse will be pleased to clarify this for you.
