Galloway Activity Centre is a family run business that employs over 40 people in the peak season and provides multi-activities, tuition and accommodation to a wide range of customers.
We recruit 2 or 3 seasonal office staff each year who take responsibility for the smooth running of reception. Attention to detail and excellent organisation skills are essential.
We are a small team and you must have the flexibility to step in to other roles as required (e.g. helping in the kitchen or with cleaning). It's a difficult and demanding job with a lot of responsibility. Full training will be given but experience of admin and hospitality is highly desirable.
Hours are varied depending on how busy we are but expect split shifts during the summer months and 5 or 6 day weeks including weekends. Accommodation and food is provided and in your free time you will have access to all the activity equipment at the centre. We have quite a young team and living on site can be a fantastic experience.

Glencoe Independent Hostel have a full time (min 20 hours a week off season) 1 year possibly permanent role starting in February 18. The role is varied mainly cleaning and laundry during the day and reception duties after 2pm. Other duties include gardening, light maintenance and deep cleaning.
This is a physically hard job! 40 hours a week over 5 days - either day or split shifts, we give 4 weeks rotas in advance and your two days off each week together if possible. Basic staff accommodation available or if living off site a driving licence is very useful. Live in amongst the mountains working for a family run business with hands on owners. Then there are the ducks, hens, sheep, Django the dog, poly tunnel, gardens and woodlands.
All of this is within a 6 acre homestead in Nethy Bridge in the Cairngorms National Park, Scottish Highlands.

The Smugglers Hostel is a lovely, small community run hostel in the village of Tomintoul, in the Cairngorms National Park. We are looking for trustworthy, sociable, hardworking and flexible volunteers with good spoken English. The work will involve helping to clean the hostel, occasional food preparation and greeting and checking in our guests.
Our volunteers can join us anytime from May to September and preferably stay at least one month, but longer may be possible. We ask for 24 hours work a week spread over 4 days. This work will involve weekends and some evenings and above all you need to be flexible as every day is different! You would have 3 free days each week to explore our beautiful surroundings and pursue your own interests. Outdoor activity opportunities are quite wonderful in this part of the highlands and wildlife is on our doorstep, as is the stunning landscape of the Cairngorm Mountains.
In return, you will be provided with a bed in a small dorm, your own secure locker, free Wifi, use of a bike and a daily breakfast. There is also a large kitchen and communal lounge for you to make use of. Family evening meals are also sometimes offered by the hostel manager and there is the opportunity for you to get involved with local events and make new friends.
