We are looking to recruit a second ASSISTANT MANAGER - RESIDENT - Business, Operations & Hospitality
Private accommodation in the grounds. 35 hours a week
Permanent, subject to 3 month probation from February 2019. 28 days annual leave per year

An exciting opportunity for a skilled, outdoor minded multi-tasking person to join an award-winning, family-run bespoke hospitality & eco accommodation business. Your principal focus will be supporting the Manager to deliver a high-quality guest experience from the moment they choose to book with us, through to the morning they leave. Ideally, you will be experienced in involving yourself in a variety of activities, from housekeeping, to ensuring a great guest experience, to basic maintenance and anything in between. You will be a natural team leader happy to juggle a variety of administrative and hands-on operational duties, such as care of sheep, ducks & hens, as required in a small family-owned business environment.

Otter Bunkhouse, Outer Hebrides

We are looking for somebody to help with cleaning duties for both Otter Bunkhouse and Otter Bothy, from mid August until October/November. This will only be for an hour or two a day in the mornings, and not always every day. It will involve general cleaning of the Bunkhouse and Bothy, to make sure they are ready for guests arriving.


In addition, kitchen and waiting help is also required at Loch Croistean Schoolhouse, which is a cafe/bistro about two miles from the bunkhouse, and the two jobs can easily be combined. Kitchen duties would be for an hour each morning, prepping food and getting things ready for lunches and evening meals. Kitchen and waiting duties will then be required in the evenings, usually from around 5pm to 9pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Caravan accommodation will be provided, along with meals. If you would like to spend some time in an idyllic part of the island, living in a remote but beautiful area, and make some money at the same time, please do consider us. Driving licence preferred, but not essential. Bike available for use.

The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse, Skye

Volunteers needed year-round. Live on the Isle of Skye for a month (or longer!) and experience life in a busy, stylish and modern bunkhouse.
We would love to hear from enthusiastic people who have fantastic cleaning skills and an eye for detail, as well being honest, friendly, and hard-working.  The tasks will be a mixture of cleaning and welcoming our guests.

Admin and Reception - Galloway Acitivity Centre, Dumfriesshire

Galloway Activity Centre is a family run business that employs over 40 people in the peak season and provides multi-activities, tuition and accommodation to a wide range of customers.

We recruit 2 or 3 seasonal office staff each year who take responsibility for the smooth running of reception. Attention to detail and excellent organisation skills are essential.  

We are a small team and you must have the flexibility to step in to other roles as required (e.g. helping in the kitchen or with cleaning). It's a difficult and demanding job with a lot of responsibility. Full training will be given but experience of admin and hospitality is highly desirable.

Hours are varied depending on how busy we are but expect split shifts during the summer months and 5 or 6 day weeks including weekends. Accommodation and food is provided and in your free time you will have access to all the activity equipment at the centre. We have quite a young team and living on site can be a fantastic experience.

Hostel Assistant - Morag's Lodge, Loch Ness

Volunteer Assistant Warden Acheninver Hostel

Volunteer Assistant Warden opportunities at Acheninver Hostel, Achiltibuie.  Post open from start of April to the end of September, minimum four week stay, one volunteer at a time.

The exchange is for 4 hours work per day for 6 days (Tues-Sun) in return for accommodation (single bed in shared dorm) and £50 p/w towards food.  The help we need is from 10.30am - 1.30pm with changeover and from 9pm-10pm with late guest check ins.

Acheninver Hostel is an iconic old hostel, run by SYHA for 79 years and much loved in the village and beyond.  We took on the tenancy after SYHA and opened as an Independent Hostel July 2016.  Come and help us host people for Acheninver's 8th decade on the wild north west coast of Scotland.

Smugglers Hostel, Cairngorms National Park - Volunteer Opportunities

The Smugglers Hostel is a lovely, small community run hostel in the village of Tomintoul, in the Cairngorms National Park. We are looking for trustworthy, sociable, hardworking and flexible volunteers with good spoken English. The work will involve helping to clean the hostel, occasional food preparation and greeting and checking in our guests.

Our volunteers can join us anytime from May to September and preferably stay at least one month, but longer may be possible. We ask for 24 hours work a week spread over 4 days. This work will involve weekends and some evenings and above all you need to be flexible as every day is different!  You would have 3 free days each week to explore our beautiful surroundings and pursue your own interests. Outdoor activity opportunities are quite wonderful in this part of the highlands and wildlife is on our doorstep, as is the stunning landscape of the Cairngorm Mountains.

In return, you will be provided with a bed in a small dorm, your own secure locker, free Wifi, use of a bike and a daily breakfast. There is also a large kitchen and communal lounge for you to make use of. Family evening meals are also sometimes offered by the hostel manager and there is the opportunity for you to get involved with local events and make new friends.
