Hostel Assistant - Morag's Lodge, Loch Ness

Morag's Lodge is a multi-award-winning hostel located in the stunning village of Fort Augustus on the banks of Loch Ness. The hostel is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, has a lively atmosphere and fun-loving team. 

So if you love the outdoors and fancy having Nessie as a neighbour then we may have the role for you - Make it your job to showcase Highland Hospitality at its best! Full training will be provided, live-in accommodation available, contracts are full-time and will run until October 2017.

General Assistance is required throughout the hostel, ensuring the operation and control of the hostel in a safe, clean and hospitable manner, with focus on exceptional service standards and delivery of outstanding overnight experiences for guests. Duties include housekeeping, kitchen, bar, reception, and general awesomeness. We are a fun-loving and hard-working team so only apply if you're awesome! Volunteer Assistant Warden Acheninver Hostel

Volunteer Assistant Warden opportunities at Acheninver Hostel, Achiltibuie.  Post open from start of April to the end of September, minimum four week stay, one volunteer at a time.   The exchange is for 4 hours work per day for 6 days (Tues-Sun) in return for accommodation (single bed in shared dorm) and £50 p/w towards food.  The help we need is from 10.30am - 1.30pm with changeover and from 9pm-10pm with late guest check ins.

Acheninver Hostel is an iconic old hostel, run by SYHA for 79 years and much loved in the village and beyond.  We took on the tenancy after SYHA and opened as an Independent Hostel July 2016.  Come and help us host people for Acheninver's 8th decade on the wild north west coast of Scotland.

Inveraray: volunteer gardener for bed & board

Inveraray Hostel is an independent, not-for-profit hostel in the Southern Highlands of Scotland, by Loch Fyne near the Arrochar Alps. We have a large garden to maintain & could really do with some help! We welcome short-term volunteers to help out in the garden &/or with craft/art projects in exchange for bed & board, & the opportunity to explore Inveraray. Galloway Activity Centre, Dumfriesshire

Galloway Activity Centre employs up to 30 people in the peak season in a variety of different roles. 

Recruitment goes on all year round but our main job push is at the start of the year. 

All the equipment at the Centre is available for your use out of hours.  Food and basic accommodation can be provided. 

At May 2017 we have a particular requirement for a cleaner two days a week and kitchen helper.

Lazy Duck Hostel, Nethy Bridge, Cairngorms National Park: 

If you are a single or a couple looking for a spirited Volunteer Helper Project where your contribution really counts and is appreciated by our experienced team and guests, please get in touch with us at any time from now. 

Pro-active, self-motivated 'can do' people are always welcome, year round, for a two, three or four month stay. 

"Small is Beautiful" - we take our sustainable living obligations seriously and are holders of the Green Tourism Business Gold Award.  While making sure we give everything we can to our guests, we also have a lot of fun. 

For the last 14 years Volunteer Helpers, who now live in either their own winterised hut or adjacent three season only caravan have joined in with the management and maintenance of this quirky and rustic 8-bed hostel & light-weight camping ground with off grid accommodation.  

Then there are the ducks, hens, sheep, Django the dog, poly tunnel, gardens and woodlands. 

All of this is within a 6 acre homestead in Nethy Bridge in the Cairngorms National Park, Scottish Highlands.

Smugglers Hostel, Cairngorms National Park - Volunteer Opportunities

The Smugglers Hostel is a lovely, small community run hostel in the village of Tomintoul, in the Cairngorms National Park. We are looking for trustworthy, sociable, hardworking and flexible volunteers with good spoken English. The work will involve helping to clean the hostel, occasional food preparation and greeting and checking in our guests.

Our volunteers can join us anytime from May to September and preferably stay at least one month, but longer may be possible. We ask for 24 hours work a week spread over 4 days. This work will involve weekends and some evenings and above all you need to be flexible as every day is different!  You would have 3 free days each week to explore our beautiful surroundings and pursue your own interests. Outdoor activity opportunities are quite wonderful in this part of the highlands and wildlife is on our doorstep, as is the stunning landscape of the Cairngorm Mountains.

In return, you will be provided with a bed in a small dorm, your own secure locker, free Wifi, use of a bike and a daily breakfast. There is also a large kitchen and communal lounge for you to make use of. Family evening meals are also sometimes offered by the hostel manager and there is the opportunity for you to get involved with local events and make new friends.
