Ideal Backpacking Hostel accommodation to explore Caithness and the North Coast of Scotland. Ideally situated in a prime central location in Thurso Sandra's Backpackers is run to the exacting standards of the Carson family. Excellent facilities and ideal location for surfing, walking and for getting to the Orkney Islands
Sandra’s Backpackers of Thurso has been recently refurbished and is now one of the top budget places at which to stay in Scotland. Recommended by Lonely Planet, Rough Guide and Let’s Go, Sandra’s is run by a family who’s done a lot of backpacking, and they’ve built their hostel around their combined experiences.
There is a homely sitting area with internet, movie and music capabilities alongside a fully stocked kitchen. The hostel also includes a small continental style breakfast free of charge. Freshly laundered linen is supplied and there’s access to the internet and washing/drying facilities.
Sandra’s Backpackers is located in the centre of Thurso, Caithness, and you can’t go much further north in mainland Scotland without running into the sea. And that’s why many travel here; there’s excellent surfing, easy access for touring the north coast, and a ferry to and from the Orkney Islands nearby. All rooms are en-suite with central heating, which you control yourself, hot water and showers that are available all day, and they’re especially nice on the days when the water’s a little too cold for surfing.
