Lovely quiet quirky hostel in the beautiful scottish highlands

Reviewed on September 12, 2016

We stayed for a weekend, 7 of us, in the hostel. A great place to get away from it all. Staff were friendly and helpful, there was a great laid back feeling to the place. Facilities were great, although we didn\'t take advantage of the hot tub or sauna. It was fun chopping firewood and nice to be able to just relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the forest. Would be very happy to return another time

Hostel response:

Thanks so much you folks; Glad you had a good visit to our local Cairngorm Brewery and that, helped by your superbly cooked roast beef, you lived to tell the tale. Good brew isn't it! All the best, David & Team Lazy Duck

Brilliant hostel in an idyllic setting

Reviewed on September 11, 2016

We booked the hostel for 7 of us for 2 nights. We genuinely loved the place. Easy to find yet you it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. The setup with the bunk beds downstairs and beds upstairs was great. Kitchen area with dining table was ideal and the outside barbecue area was just a lovely place to cook and chat. The staff were very welcoming, staff were on hand if you needed anything. The hostel was very clean. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone. Very well priced and we may go back again!
