Sutherland is a fabulous area to visit

This beautiful scenic area in the North East of Scotland is a haven for wildife, particularly famous for red deer and birdlife. Hill and sea shore walks are on offer here or in the nearby Flow Country and summer swimming in the sea is very popular from the pristine sandy beaches. There is an incredible choice of outdoor activities and sports available. Try salmon fishing or take a boat trip for some excellent bird-watching, sight-seeing and sea angling. Archeological and historical remains can be seen nearby and Brora is definitelyworth a visit. Visit Dunrobin Castle; take a scenic rail journey to Thurso; go gold panning at Baile an Or, near Kildonan; take in the Highland Games in August or join in the ceilidh in the local hotel any summer Saturday night.

Fantastic Value accomodation and great manager

Reviewed on May 7, 2019

From the moment I walked through the door I loved this place. Marie the Manager is very friendly accommodating and understanding of anyone from anywhere. She’s very knowledgeable and has plenty of good recommendations if you’re interested. Newly refurbished this old school gymnasium is very clean and has modern dorms with ensuite bathroom and showers in addition to a new kitchen (no oven) and log burning stove to keep you nice and toasty warm. An extremely effective drying cupboard for drying out your clothes if the weather is poor. Outside is the secure bike store, washing line and a bench for chilling out and taking in the seaside air. I will definitely come again thank you again Marie for being so lovely. Craig
