Our Hostel is located in the heart of the coastal village of Findhorn, at the mouth of Findhorn bay. Findhorn is situated on the North East, Moray Coast, of Scotland which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and overlooks the renowned Findhorn Bay and Culbin Forrest. It is well known for its wealth of wildlife such as ospreys, seals & dolphins. Hostel been renovated in May 2016.

Nearest Public Transport: There is a Bus Stop situated 20 yards from the Hostel. Buses travel regularly to Forres and Elgin. Timetables are available in the Hostel. The operator of this service is Stagecoach, please check our website for further details. The nearest railway stations are Forres (5 miles) and Elgin (12 miles) and are situated on the Inverness/Aberdeen mainline, please see Scotrail for further details. Inverness Airport is approximately 28 miles away and transfers can be made by Hire Car, Bus or Taxi.
Nearest Shop/Pub: The local Spar shop and Post Office is a 2 minute walk from the Hostel

Hostel Accommodation at Findhorn on the Moray Coast

Our Hostel is located in the coastal village of Findhorn on the North East, Moray coast in Scotland, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty! Please note the Hostel is closed until April 2016 for a major upgrade which will provide high quality, cosy and contemporary accommodation for our guests.

We are the perfect venue for individuals, couples, families, youth and adult groups alike.  Once our refurbishment is complete we can accommodate up to 28 guests; 22 in the main Hostel and a further 6 individuals in a new Annex with ensuite and mini-kitchen.  Adjoining the hostel is our local community resource centre.  This provides availability for the use of the two conference room facilities, which can accommodate 28 or 54 respectively with access to computers and WIFI.  If you require the use of a Hall, we can arrange it for you.

Our accommodation is self-catering however, we have a local caterer available if required.  The village has a bakery, Spar shop, Post Office, 4 cafes and 2 pubs. All village amenities are within a 5 minute walk of the Hostel. We can offer assistance in arranging a tailor-made package of local outdoor activities, arts and educational events for your stay, all local to the Findhorn area. We are 32 miles from Inverness and 80 miles from Aberdeen.  Our nearest towns are Forres, Nairn and Elgin. By bus you can reach us on the from Forres or Elgin. We are situated in the heart of the village and a 10 minute walk to The Findhorn Foundation Community.

The Accommodation

We are undertaking a total refurbishment of the Hostel providing cosy, contemporary accommodation all the year round.  We will have two dorms sleeping 8, suitable for groups, a single room, a double room and a family room with ensuite which can accommodate four guests plus a cot. We will have a brand new self-catering ktichen and an enlarged communal area for guests to gather.  The new-build Annex takes 6 guests, with an ensuite and kitchenette.

Special Rate:

Sole use of the new Annex which sleeps 6 is £150.00 per night and includes en-suite bathroom and Micro-kitchen; all bed linen and a basic welcome pack including a continental breakfast. Groups of less than 8 individuals, wishing sole use of a dorm would be charged £150.00 per night. Sole use of the Hostel based on 23 beds is £350.00 per night. Charities, Local Groups, Schools and Fundraising Organisations should Call the office for rates of hire for the Hostel. Local residents wishing to hire the Hostel for family parties should ring the office to discuss local residents rates.

Spacious modernised hostel - perfect stay

There were three of us working on a field trip with Aberdeen University. The Hostel had all the facilities we needed plus a pleasant space for relaxing.
