About Argyll Backpackers

The inspiration for the hostel originated from Pam's (the owner/warden) parents.  They met while visiting hostels in Scotland during the late 1940s and Pam inherited the bug!  She designed and project managed the build starting from a piece of waste ground and during that time has learned to turn her hand to many different building skills.  The result is a fantastic purpose -built hostel designed to offer comfortable and practical accommodation for travellers on a budget. They even have a mascot, Jack to greet you (a life size model of a backpacker, named after Pam’s Dad).
