As dog owners themselves, well behaved dogs are allowed, as long as they sleep in a private room with their own bedding as they are not permitted on beds or furniture.

Argyll Backpackers is on the main road connecting Glasgow to Campbeltown (A83). For anyone en route to Oban and the Isles, Bute, Arran, Islay, Campbeltown or even Ireland, Argyll Backpackers are ideally placed for a picturesque stay en-route.

About Argyll Backpackers

The inspiration for the hostel originated from Pam's (the owner/warden) parents.  They met while visiting hostels in Scotland during the late 1940s and Pam inherited the bug!  She designed and project managed the build starting from a piece of waste ground and during that time has learned to turn her hand to many different building skills.  The result is a fantastic purpose -built hostel designed to offer comfortable and practical accommodation for travellers on a budget. They even have a mascot, Jack to greet you (a life size model of a backpacker, named after Pam’s Dad).
