Volunteer Summer Helpers 2010

We have now made the first invitations to Summer Helper 2010 applicants to join us for a two month period from 1st May to the end of October.
We still have room for more energetic, skilled and happy people to join us as volunteers giving up to 4 hours a day 6 days a week in exchange for accommodation in individual classic and pristine touring caravans.  If this interests you then please look at our website - 'job hunting' page where you will find more details of what we can offer and what we are looking for from

Live-in Rural Hostel Manager, Southern Highlands (may suit a couple)

Do you have a passion for informal hospitality? This is a seasonal, hands-on job managing all aspects of a busy rural hostel and group accommodation in the southern Highlands of Scotland. Start March 2010 for 8 months (with the possibility for extension). It’ll suit someone who is warm and hospitable, organised, house-proud and has an eye for detail.

We are also looking for a part-time maintenance person with good DIY skills, so these positions may suit a couple.

Help wanted at Iona Hostel If you are fit and hardworking why not come and spend some time at Iona Hostel ? We offer accommodation and 50 per week in exchange for 20 hours a week (5 x 4hrs) in helping clean our friendly 4 Star hostel. Ideally suits someone who enjoys hostelling and hard work and who want plenty time to themselves to explore this lovely island. Length of stay is flexible.

We will be inviting applications for next year's Summer Helper Programme which starts on 1st May, 2010 from January onwards.
